Projects
At Cookie District, we’re not just baking cookies—we’re building moments, memories, and meaningful connections. Our projects reflect our passion for creativity, our love for the community, and our commitment to bringing joy through our work. Whether it’s launching a new cookie series, collaborating with local creators, or giving back to causes that matter, each project we take on has purpose and heart behind it.
Buy a Box, Give a Box: Spreading Joy Through Cookies
At Cookie District, we’ve always believed that cookies have the power to bring people together—and during the holiday season, that feeling becomes even more special. That’s why we launched one of our most meaningful projects yet: the Buy a Box, Give a Box campaign.
This annual initiative invites our customers to share in the joy of giving by doing something simple—buying a box of cookies. For every box sold during the campaign period, we donate another box to someone in need. It’s our way of turning small treats into big acts of kindness.
Where It All Started
The idea began around our family kitchen table. The holidays are a big deal for our family—and cookies have always been at the center of it all. But as we were planning our seasonal cookie line-up one year, we started thinking about the people in our community who don’t get to experience that same warmth.
That’s when the idea hit: What if every customer order could also brighten someone else’s day?
And so, the Buy a Box, Give a Box project was born.
How It Works
During the campaign window—typically from mid-November through the New Year—every purchase from our holiday menu is matched with a donated box of cookies. These aren’t leftover or basic batches either; we bake special boxes just for giving, packed with the same care, flavor, and variety as the ones sold to customers.
Recipients include:
-
Local shelters and food banks
-
Elderly residents in assisted living communities
-
Families receiving support from local charities
-
Youth and children’s centers
We personally deliver each donation as a family—because this project is about connection, not just cookies.
The Response from Our Community
The response has been overwhelming. Last year alone, thanks to our incredible customers, we delivered over 300 boxes of cookies to individuals and families across the city. Some cried when we showed up. Others hugged us. And many simply smiled and said, “I didn’t expect anything this Christmas—but now I have something to share.”
One of the most touching moments? A letter from a young girl in a shelter who told us the cookies reminded her of baking with her grandma. That’s what keeps us going.
Why This Project Matters
The Buy a Box, Give a Box campaign reminds us why we started Cookie District in the first place: to share joy, one cookie at a time. It brings our team—and our family—closer together. And it allows our customers to be part of something that’s bigger than just dessert.
Because at the end of the day, cookies aren’t just about flavor. They’re about comfort, kindness, and community.
Want to Be Part of It This Year?
Our next Buy a Box, Give a Box campaign launches this November, and we’d love for you to be part of it. When you place your order, you’re helping us deliver a little sweetness to someone who needs it most.
Stay tuned to our blog and social media for updates—and if you know an organization or community that could benefit from cookie donations, please reach out. We’re always looking to grow the impact of this project.
Let’s make this holiday season the sweetest one yet.
